Hold Fast
Trapped inside my inner mind
I’ve no way answers to find
And yet a dream resides
Turmoil, fear and all the rest
Are present still, but when I jest
They all seem to subside
For I still have a shred of hope
And happiness with its scorned trope.
I feel I’m yet alive
So I hold fast, I do not yield
Using said faith as broken shield
My mind tells me: Survive!
So you may earn all that you seek
And you, in turn shall take a peek
Of what it is to live.
To have your dream lit like a flame
To feel like all that’s in your name
Is only yours to give.

Poem for my better half
Anticipation of her.
Suspense and anxiousness alike
Are filling renewed heart.
As if it might just come apart,
As through it runs a spike…
But not the kind inflicting pain,
Or cruel sentimental drought…
Instead it burns away all doubt,
As earth is cleansed by rain.
For she has set my soul alight,
As wilds fall prey to fire.
Yet, with the help of wax and wire,
She mends my broken might.
She’s but a beacon in the dark
And a safe haven from the harsh
Yes! She redeems the fated marsh
That is my story arc…
She’s of the worthy and the pure
And I would want to keep her thus.
